Description

These Air Fryer Cinnamon Twists are an easy, delicious, and healthier treat, perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack. They’re crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with that irresistible cinnamon-sugar coating. And best of all, they’re made in an air fryer, so no need for deep frying!

Ingredients

For the Dough:

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or sweetener of choice)

3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

3 tablespoons butter, melted

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. Make the Dough:

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Add the Greek yogurt and vanilla extract, and stir until a soft dough forms. You may need to use your hands to bring everything together.

2. Knead the Dough:

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for a few minutes until smooth. Be careful not to over-knead it.

3. Shape the Twists:

Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope about 12 inches long.

4. Make the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

In a shallow bowl, mix the melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon together.

5. Prep the Air Fryer:

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.

6. Cook the Twists:

Working in batches, carefully place the twists in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them for proper air circulation.

Air fry for 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

7. Coat the Twists:

While the twists are still hot, brush them with the melted butter and immediately toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat them evenly.

8. Serve:

Serve the air fryer cinnamon twists warm, either on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce like cream cheese frosting or icing.

Notes

For extra crispiness, you can spray a little more non-stick spray on the twists before air frying.

Make it your own: Add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice to the cinnamon sugar for a unique twist.

Storage: These twists are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to bring back their crispiness.
