Ingredients
Crab Cake Mixture
- 1 lb crab meat
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, combine crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and chopped parsley. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the crab meat too much.
- Form Patties: Shape the crab mixture into evenly sized patties, ensuring they hold together well.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 190°C (375°F) to ensure even cooking and a crispy exterior.
- Prepare for Cooking: Lightly spray both sides of the crab cakes with oil to help achieve a golden crust and prevent sticking.
- Air Fry Crab Cakes: Place the crab cakes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Serve: Remove from the air fryer and serve warm, ideally with tartar sauce or lemon wedges for added flavor.
Notes
- Chill patties for 15 minutes before cooking to help them hold their shape better during air frying.
- Serve with tartar sauce or lemon wedges for added flavor.
- Use fresh crab meat for the best taste and texture, but canned crab can be used if needed.
- Be gentle when mixing the crab meat to avoid breaking it up too much and losing the texture.
