Description
Warm, buttery, and baked right in the toaster oven, this single-serving apple crumble is the perfect solo dessert—especially with ice cream on top!
Ingredients
For the Filling
1 Jazz apple (or Honeycrisp apple)
1 tbsp raw sugar
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp butter, melted
For the Crumble Topping
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp raw sugar
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1.5 tbsp butter, melted
For Garnish
1 large scoop vanilla ice cream (or rose saffron kulfi for a Desi twist)
Instructions
Prep the Filling
Chop the Jazz or Honeycrisp apple into small cubes.
Add the apple cubes to a ramekin or small baking dish.
Pour 1 tablespoon melted butter, 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon raw sugar, 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice over the apples.
Mix until the apples are well coated with the ingredients.
Make the Crumble Topping
In a small bowl, mix together 3 tablespoons flour, 2 tablespoons raw sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon.
Add 1.5 tablespoons melted butter and mix gently with your hands until small clumps form. The texture should resemble damp sand that sticks together but still crumbles.
Layer It Up
Spoon the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture. It doesn’t need to fully cover the apples; just a light topping works perfectly.
Bake It Off
Preheat your toaster oven to 350°F.
Bake for about 30-35 minutes. The crumble should be golden brown, and the edges should be bubbling. If the top looks pale, bake for a few more minutes.
If using a regular oven, you may need to bake it for around 35-40 minutes.
Serve and Enjoy
Let it cool slightly before topping with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream or rose saffron kulfi for a fun twist.
Notes
The topping should be slightly damp, like wet sand—clumpy and crumbly but not dry.
Oven times may vary, so keep an eye out for bubbly edges and a golden top.
This recipe has a lightly topped crumble—feel free to double the crumble portion if you want more.
Jazz or Honeycrisp apples work best, but any firm-sweet apple will work for this recipe.
For an extra special touch, serve with vanilla ice cream or kulfi for a unique twist.
