Description

Indulge in the best classic Italian tiramisu recipe, featuring layers of creamy mascarpone, coffee-soaked ladyfingers, and a dusting of cocoa powder. This easy-to-make, no-bake dessert is perfect for any occasion and will impress your guests with its rich flavor and smooth texture.

Ingredients

6 large egg yolks

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup mascarpone cheese (room temperature)

1 1/4 cups heavy cream

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee (cooled)

1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)

24 ladyfingers

Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mascarpone mixture: Whisk the egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat in the mascarpone until smooth.

  2. Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, beat heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Gently fold this whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.

  3. Prepare the coffee mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the cooled brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).

  4. Assemble the tiramisu: Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for about 1 second. Arrange them in a single layer in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture on top of the ladyfingers.

  5. Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  6. Chill: Cover and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor.

  7. Serve: Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

Notes

Storage: Store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. It can be made a day or two in advance for optimal flavor.

Non-Alcoholic Option: Skip the coffee liqueur and use extra brewed coffee.

Flavor Variations: Add shaved chocolate or fruit layers for different twists.
