Description

Spicy Cajun-style seafood boil loaded with succulent shrimp, smoky sausage, tender potatoes, and sweet corn, all simmered together with bold Cajun seasoning. This flavorful and hearty dish is perfect for casual gatherings and feeds a crowd with ease.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb small potatoes, halved if large
  • 2 ears corn, cut into chunks
  • 1 smoked sausage link, sliced into rounds

Seasonings & Liquids

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbsp butter

For Serving

  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cajun Boil Base: In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning and stir well to dissolve, creating a flavorful broth to cook the seafood and vegetables.
  2. Cook Potatoes and Corn: Add the small potatoes and cut corn chunks to the boiling seasoned water. Let them cook for about 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
  3. Add Sausage and Shrimp: Carefully add the sliced smoked sausage and shrimp into the pot with the potatoes and corn. Continue cooking for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque and the sausage is heated through.
  4. Drain and Toss: Drain the mixture thoroughly in a colander. Transfer the hot seafood and vegetables to a large serving platter. Toss everything with 2 tablespoons of butter and additional Cajun seasoning if desired to coat all ingredients evenly and enhance flavor.
  5. Serve with Lemon Wedges: Garnish the platter with fresh lemon wedges for squeezing over the top, adding a bright citrus contrast to the spicy boil. Serve immediately for best taste and enjoyment.
