Description

Soft and Savory Cheese Bread Loaded with Melted Goodness in Every Bite

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1 teaspoon dried herbs (like oregano or thyme, optional)

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite blend)

1 cup milk

1/4 cup vegetable oil or melted butter

1 large egg

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and herbs.

Fold in the shredded cheese until coated with the flour mixture.

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, oil (or melted butter), and egg until smooth.

Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined—do not overmix.

Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan and pour the batter in, smoothing the top. Optionally, sprinkle more cheese on top.

Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cover with foil if browning too quickly.

Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Let cool completely for 20 minutes before slicing with a serrated knife.

Enjoy plain or serve with butter, garlic spread, or marinara sauce.
