Description
Cheese Stuffed Breadsticks are soft, golden breadsticks filled with melty mozzarella cheese and brushed with a flavorful garlic butter. This easy Italian-inspired appetizer is perfect as a snack or side dish and pairs wonderfully with marinara sauce for dipping.
Ingredients
Dough and Cheese
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
- 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
Topping
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- Prepare Dough: Roll out the refrigerated pizza dough on a clean surface and cut it into 8 equal strips, each sized to wrap around a mozzarella stick.
- Stuff Breadsticks: Place one mozzarella cheese stick on each strip of dough, then carefully roll the dough around the cheese stick. Pinch the seams tightly to seal the breadsticks and prevent cheese from leaking during baking.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the stuffed breadsticks seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet to keep them sealed as they bake.
- Apply Toppings: Brush the tops of the breadsticks generously with melted butter. Sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese for flavor and a golden crust.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and gooey.
- Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and serve immediately while the cheese is melty. These breadsticks pair excellently with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Ensure to pinch the seams thoroughly to prevent the cheese from leaking out during baking.
- These breadsticks are delicious when served with marinara or ranch dipping sauce.
- Best enjoyed fresh out of the oven for optimum gooey cheese texture.
