Description

These stuffed mushrooms are savory, cheesy, and packed with flavor, making them a classic appetizer that’s always a hit at parties or family gatherings. The combination of creamy cheese, garlic, and tender mushroom stems creates a delicious bite-sized treat.

Ingredients

Mushrooms

  • 16 large button or cremini mushrooms

Filling

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s at the right temperature for baking the mushrooms evenly.
  2. Prepare Mushrooms: Remove the stems from the mushroom caps carefully and finely chop the stems to use in the filling.
  3. Sauté Filling Base: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped mushroom stems and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Mix Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, grated parmesan, breadcrumbs, and the sautéed mushroom stems with garlic. Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix until well combined.
  5. Stuff Mushrooms: Spoon the creamy filling mixture into each mushroom cap, pressing gently to fill them completely.
  6. Bake: Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the tops are golden and bubbly.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Add herbs such as parsley, thyme, or spinach to the filling for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Use gluten-free breadcrumbs if you need to accommodate gluten-sensitive diets.
  • These stuffed mushrooms are best served fresh but can be reheated gently if needed.
