Description

Enjoy cozy nights with these Chicken Pillows with Creamy Parmesan Sauce, a delicious combination of tender shredded chicken, rich cream cheese filling, and a crispy, flaky crescent roll crust. Topped with a creamy, buttery Parmesan sauce, this dish is a perfect comfort meal for family gatherings or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

For the Filling:

2 cups Cooked and Shredded Chicken (rotisserie or leftover chicken works great)

8 oz Cream Cheese (softened for easy mixing)

1 tsp Garlic Powder

1 tsp Onion Powder

1 tsp Dried Parsley (fresh parsley can be used if available)

1/2 tsp Salt (adjust to taste)

1/2 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)

2 tbsp Melted Butter

1 pkg Crescent Roll Dough (provides a buttery, flaky crust)

1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs (optional, for added crunch)

1 large Egg (beaten, for egg wash)

For the Creamy Parmesan Sauce:

4 tbsp Butter (for the roux)

1/4 cup All-purpose Flour (to thicken the sauce)

1 cup Whole Milk (for a creamy base)

1/2 cup Heavy Cream (adds richness)

1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (Parmigiano-Reggiano is best)

1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

1/2 tsp Salt (adjust to taste)

1/4 tsp Black Pepper (for depth)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare Chicken Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, pepper, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.

Assemble Chicken Pillows: Unroll the crescent roll dough and gently flatten each triangle. Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture onto the center of each triangle. Fold the dough edges over the filling, sealing the seams tightly to form a pocket.

Egg Wash and Breadcrumbs: Brush the tops of the chicken-filled pillows with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with panko breadcrumbs (if using).

Bake: Arrange the pillows on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Make the Creamy Parmesan Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and whisk in the flour to form a roux. Gradually add the whole milk and heavy cream while whisking constantly. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened, then stir in the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Serve: Once the Chicken Pillows are golden brown, drizzle the warm creamy Parmesan sauce over each pillow and serve.

Notes

For a more savory flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the creamy Parmesan sauce.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

You can substitute the panko breadcrumbs with crushed crackers for a different texture.
