Description
A classic, ultra-moist chocolate chip banana bread bursting with rich chocolate chips and natural sweetness from ripe bananas, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup melted butter or vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-ins
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare the pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
- Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the mashed ripe bananas with brown sugar, eggs, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract until smooth and well incorporated.
- Integrate the mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the bread tender.
- Add chocolate chips: Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter for bursts of chocolate in every slice.
- Bake the bread: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool down: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes to set, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for the best flavor and moist texture.
- If the bread top browns too quickly during baking, tent loosely with aluminum foil to prevent burning.
