Description
A tender and moist vanilla quick bread featuring a rich cinnamon sugar swirl throughout, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.
Ingredients
Bread Batter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cinnamon Swirl
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan to prevent the bread from sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar to evenly distribute the leavening and seasoning.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the bread tender.
- Layer Batter and Cinnamon Swirl: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar and ground cinnamon mixture over the batter. Then gently pour the remaining batter on top.
- Create Swirl: Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the batter and cinnamon sugar together to create the cinnamon swirl effect without fully mixing them.
- Bake: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the bread is set.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
Notes
- Tent the bread loosely with aluminum foil if the top starts to brown too quickly while baking to prevent burning.
- This quick bread is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored tightly wrapped for a couple of days.
- For extra richness, you may use half-and-half instead of milk.
- Swirling the cinnamon sugar gently ensures a beautiful marbled effect without blending the swirl away.
