Description

A tender and moist vanilla quick bread featuring a rich cinnamon sugar swirl throughout, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Bread Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Swirl

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan to prevent the bread from sticking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar to evenly distribute the leavening and seasoning.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the bread tender.
  5. Layer Batter and Cinnamon Swirl: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar and ground cinnamon mixture over the batter. Then gently pour the remaining batter on top.
  6. Create Swirl: Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the batter and cinnamon sugar together to create the cinnamon swirl effect without fully mixing them.
  7. Bake: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the bread is set.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Tent the bread loosely with aluminum foil if the top starts to brown too quickly while baking to prevent burning.
  • This quick bread is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored tightly wrapped for a couple of days.
  • For extra richness, you may use half-and-half instead of milk.
  • Swirling the cinnamon sugar gently ensures a beautiful marbled effect without blending the swirl away.
