Description

A juicy, flavorful classic meatloaf cooked perfectly in the air fryer for a tender center and a caramelized glaze finish. This quick and easy recipe offers a delicious weeknight dinner option packed with savory spices and a sweet tangy glaze.

Ingredients

Meatloaf

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Glaze

  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat for a few minutes to ensure even cooking.
  2. Prepare the meatloaf mixture: In a mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, diced onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Be careful not to overmix to keep the meatloaf tender.
  3. Shape and place in pan: Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it inside an air fryer-safe pan or dish, which helps contain any juices and makes handling easier.
  4. Make and apply the glaze: In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread this glaze evenly over the top of the shaped meatloaf for a sweet and tangy finish.
  5. Air fry the meatloaf: Cook in the preheated air fryer for 25–30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for safe consumption.
  6. Rest before slicing: Remove the meatloaf from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a moist and flavorful slice.

Notes

  • Using a foil sling or parchment paper liner in the air fryer pan can help with easy removal and cleanup.
  • Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure doneness without overcooking.
  • You can customize the glaze by adding a bit of mustard or hot sauce for extra flavor.
  • Leftover meatloaf can be reheated in the air fryer for a quick meal the next day.
