Description
A juicy, flavorful classic meatloaf cooked perfectly in the air fryer for a tender center and a caramelized glaze finish. This quick and easy recipe offers a delicious weeknight dinner option packed with savory spices and a sweet tangy glaze.
Ingredients
Meatloaf
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup onion, finely diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Glaze
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat for a few minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare the meatloaf mixture: In a mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, diced onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Be careful not to overmix to keep the meatloaf tender.
- Shape and place in pan: Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it inside an air fryer-safe pan or dish, which helps contain any juices and makes handling easier.
- Make and apply the glaze: In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread this glaze evenly over the top of the shaped meatloaf for a sweet and tangy finish.
- Air fry the meatloaf: Cook in the preheated air fryer for 25–30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for safe consumption.
- Rest before slicing: Remove the meatloaf from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a moist and flavorful slice.
Notes
- Using a foil sling or parchment paper liner in the air fryer pan can help with easy removal and cleanup.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure doneness without overcooking.
- You can customize the glaze by adding a bit of mustard or hot sauce for extra flavor.
- Leftover meatloaf can be reheated in the air fryer for a quick meal the next day.
