Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Cook the chicken in the skillet for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
-
Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant (be careful not to burn).
-
Pour in the chicken broth, stirring to loosen any chicken bits stuck to the pan.
-
Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Let the sauce cook for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
-
Add parmesan cheese and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce becomes creamy and smooth.
-
Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon some of the sauce over it. Simmer for 5 minutes to allow the chicken to soak up the flavors.
-
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
Notes
You can add vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for added flavor and texture.
Chicken thighs can be used in place of breasts for a richer flavor.
For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut milk or a dairy-free cream alternative and use a non-dairy cheese substitute.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer for a few more minutes or use a cornstarch slurry.
