Ingredients
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
6 oz boxed stuffing mix
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 ½ cups chicken broth
1 cup diced celery
1 small diced onion
¼ cup melted butter
1 tsp dried sage
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
Prepare the Crockpot: Set your crockpot to low (for 6-7 hours) or high (for 3-4 hours), depending on your desired cooking time.
Make the Soup Mixture: In a bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, melted butter, sage, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Prepare the Crockpot Layers: Lightly grease the crockpot to prevent sticking. Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle the diced onion and celery over the chicken, then top with the stuffing mix.
Add the Soup Mixture: Pour the prepared soup mixture evenly over the top of the stuffing.
Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and the stuffing is cooked through.
Finish: Gently fluff the stuffing before serving. Spoon onto plates and enjoy.
Notes
“Use low-sodium chicken broth to control the saltiness of the dish.”
“For a crispy topping, transfer the cooked mixture to an oven-safe dish and broil for a few minutes.”
“Feel free to add extra vegetables like carrots or peas for more variety and flavor.”
“If you prefer a richer dish, add a bit more butter or even a splash of cream to the mixture.”
