Description

This easy cheeseburger pasta is a cheesy, comforting one-pan dinner that perfectly mimics the flavors of a classic cheeseburger. Ideal for busy weeknights, this recipe requires minimal cleanup and combines ground beef, pasta, and melty cheddar cheese in one skillet for a quick, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow or shells)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil: Place a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil, allowing it to warm up before adding other ingredients.
  2. Cook the ground beef and onion: Add ground beef and diced onion to the skillet. Cook until the beef is fully browned and onions are softened, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally to break up the beef.
  3. Add garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add pasta and liquids: Pour in the uncooked pasta, beef broth, and milk. Also add ketchup and mustard, stirring to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  5. Simmer the pasta: Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover the skillet with a lid, and cook until the pasta is tender, about 12-15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking to the pan.
  6. Add cheese: Once pasta is cooked, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts into a creamy sauce coating the pasta and beef.
  7. Season and serve: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, then serve the cheeseburger pasta hot for maximum enjoyment.

Notes

  • Add pickles or bacon bits to the finished dish for an extra cheeseburger flavor boost.
  • Use ground turkey instead of beef for a lighter version of this recipe.
  • Leftovers reheat well in the microwave or on the stovetop with a splash of milk.
