Description
A soft, tender quick bread infused with creamy eggnog and warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Perfectly moist and flavorful, this festive bread is an easy holiday treat ideal for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup eggnog
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a standard loaf pan to prevent the bread from sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, ground nutmeg, and ground cinnamon until evenly combined.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate large bowl, beat together the eggs, sugar, eggnog, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract until smooth and well incorporated.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and gently stir until just mixed. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the bread dense.
- Pour into Pan: Transfer the batter into the greased loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 55 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick or cake tester into the center; it should come out clean.
- Cool: Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
