Description

French Onion Soup Rice is a comforting side dish that combines the savory richness of French onion soup with tender rice, topped with melting butter and a golden brown finish. It’s a simple yet elegant dish that brings warmth and flavor to any meal.

Ingredients

1 ¼ cups long grain rice, uncooked

14.5 oz can of beef broth

10.5 oz can of French onion soup

1 stick of butter, cold

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare the Rice

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Spread the uncooked rice evenly across the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Add the Broth and Soup

Pour the beef broth over the rice, ensuring it covers the rice evenly.

Add the French onion soup, spreading it out to infuse the rice with its rich flavor.

Step 3: Add the Butter

Slice the cold butter into thin pats and arrange them evenly on top of the rice and soup mixture.

Step 4: Bake the Rice

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.

Bake for 25 minutes to allow the rice to absorb the flavors and liquid.

After 25 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the top is golden brown.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and freshness.

Serve warm as a flavorful side dish.

Notes

Flavor Variations: Add grated cheese on top during the last few minutes of baking for a cheesy twist.

Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Perfect Pairing: This dish pairs wonderfully with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or a simple green salad.
