Description

Crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside, this classic garlic bread is packed with fresh garlic flavor and herbs. Perfect as a side for pasta, soups, or salads.

Ingredients

Bread

  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread

Garlic Butter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F to prepare for baking the garlic bread.
  2. Slice Bread: Carefully slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise to create two long halves.
  3. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Spread Butter Mixture: Evenly spread the prepared garlic butter over the cut sides of the bread halves.
  5. Add Cheese (Optional): Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered bread if desired.
  6. Bake Bread: Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until thoroughly heated.
  7. Broil for Crispiness: For an extra crispy and golden top, broil the bread for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  8. Slice and Serve: Slice the garlic bread into 8 pieces and serve warm alongside your favorite dishes.

Notes

  • Use roasted garlic instead of raw for a milder, sweeter garlic flavor.
  • Add shredded mozzarella cheese on top before baking for a cheesy garlic bread variation.
  • Best served fresh, but leftovers can be wrapped tightly and reheated in an oven or toaster.
