Ingredients
Bread
- 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread
Garlic Butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F to prepare for baking the garlic bread.
- Slice Bread: Carefully slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise to create two long halves.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: In a bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Spread Butter Mixture: Evenly spread the prepared garlic butter over the cut sides of the bread halves.
- Add Cheese (Optional): Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered bread if desired.
- Bake Bread: Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until thoroughly heated.
- Broil for Crispiness: For an extra crispy and golden top, broil the bread for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Slice and Serve: Slice the garlic bread into 8 pieces and serve warm alongside your favorite dishes.
Notes
- Use roasted garlic instead of raw for a milder, sweeter garlic flavor.
- Add shredded mozzarella cheese on top before baking for a cheesy garlic bread variation.
- Best served fresh, but leftovers can be wrapped tightly and reheated in an oven or toaster.
