Ingredients
1 fresh pineapple
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Pineapple
-
Use a sharp knife to cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple.
-
Cut away the rind and slice the pineapple into 3/4 to 1-inch spears or rings.
-
If using rings, use a small cutter to remove the core.
-
Place the pineapple into a large zip-top bag and set aside.
- 2. Make the Marinade
-
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
-
Pour the marinade into the zip-top bag with the pineapple.
-
Gently toss the fruit to coat it evenly, then refrigerate for 20-30 minutes to marinate.
- 3. Grill the Pineapple
-
Preheat your grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat (375-400°F).
-
Once heated, place the pineapple pieces on the grill.
-
Grill for 4-6 minutes per side, brushing the pineapple with the excess marinade as it cooks to add extra flavor and moisture.
- 4. Serve
-
Once grilled, transfer the pineapple to a platter and serve immediately. For extra indulgence, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side!
Notes
Marinate First: Marinating the pineapple for about 30 minutes allows the butter, sugar, and spices to soak into the fruit, enhancing its flavor.
Preheat the Grill: Be sure to heat the grill to medium-high and oil the grates to prevent the pineapple from sticking.
