Crispy Fried Chicken Stacked on a Toasted Bun with Spicy Jalapenos and Sweet Honey Drizzle
Ingredients
For the Fried Chicken:
4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 large egg, beaten
1 cup buttermilk (or whole milk)
2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Jalapeno Honey Drizzle:
¼ cup honey
2–3 jalapenos, finely chopped (seeds optional)
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Pinch of salt
For the Sandwich:
4 sandwich buns, toasted
Shredded lettuce
Tomato slices
Pickles (optional)
Mayonnaise or aioli (optional)
Instructions
In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
Dip chicken in buttermilk, then dredge in flour mixture, pressing gently to coat.
Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken 5–7 minutes per side or until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
For the drizzle, heat honey in a small saucepan over low heat. Add jalapenos and cook 3–5 minutes. Stir in vinegar and salt. Simmer 1–2 more minutes, then remove from heat.
Toast buns until golden.
Assemble sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, crispy chicken, jalapeno honey drizzle, and optional pickles or mayo.
Top with bun and serve immediately.
