Description

Crispy Fried Chicken Stacked on a Toasted Bun with Spicy Jalapenos and Sweet Honey Drizzle

Ingredients

For the Fried Chicken:

4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 large egg, beaten

1 cup buttermilk (or whole milk)

2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Jalapeno Honey Drizzle:

¼ cup honey

23 jalapenos, finely chopped (seeds optional)

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Pinch of salt

For the Sandwich:

4 sandwich buns, toasted

Shredded lettuce

Tomato slices

Pickles (optional)

Mayonnaise or aioli (optional)

Instructions

In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper.

Dip chicken in buttermilk, then dredge in flour mixture, pressing gently to coat.

Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken 5–7 minutes per side or until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

For the drizzle, heat honey in a small saucepan over low heat. Add jalapenos and cook 3–5 minutes. Stir in vinegar and salt. Simmer 1–2 more minutes, then remove from heat.

Toast buns until golden.

Assemble sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, crispy chicken, jalapeno honey drizzle, and optional pickles or mayo.

Top with bun and serve immediately.
