Description

This Mango Smoothie is a simple, creamy, and refreshing drink made with tropical mango, banana, lime, and Greek yogurt. It’s a quick and easy way to get a nutritious snack or breakfast packed with protein and fresh fruit. With just 6 ingredients, this mango smoothie is versatile and customizable with what you have on hand. Enjoy a velvety smooth texture and vibrant flavor!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks (or 2 fresh mangoes if using a frozen banana)

1 ripe banana (fresh or frozen)

1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt, or substitute with cottage cheese, kefir, or avocado for a dairy-free option)

1/2 cup milk (whole milk, almond milk, or any milk of choice)

1 tablespoon honey (or agave syrup, or your preferred sweetener)

1 teaspoon fresh lime juice (or lemon juice for a different twist)

Instructions

Add Ingredients:

Place the frozen mango, banana, Greek yogurt, milk, honey, and lime juice into a blender.

Blend:

Blend on high speed for about 60 seconds or until the mixture is smooth and there are no chunks remaining.

Taste and Adjust:

Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness or consistency. Add more honey if it’s not sweet enough, or more milk if you’d like a thinner texture.

Notes

Frozen Fruit: For the best texture, at least one of the fruits (mango or banana) should be frozen. If you use fresh fruit, add a handful of ice cubes to keep the smoothie chilled.

Leftover Smoothie: If you have any leftover smoothie, pour it into popsicle molds and freeze to make delicious mango popsicles!

Tips for the Best Mango Smoothie:

Frozen Fruit: Frozen fruit makes for a thicker and creamier smoothie. If you haven’t frozen your bananas yet, peel them, cut them into chunks, and place them in a zip-top bag in the freezer.

Adjust the Sweetness and Lime: Depending on how sweet your fruit is, you can adjust the amount of lime juice and honey. For very sweet mangoes, you might need just a splash of lime. If the fruit is tart, add more honey to balance it out.

Thick Smoothie: If your blender is having trouble, let the mixture sit for 2-3 minutes to thaw slightly, or add a splash more milk for a smoother blend.

Make-Ahead and Storage Tips:

Make-Ahead: You can prep the smoothie and freeze it in silicone ice cube trays. When you’re ready to enjoy it, just blend the frozen cubes in a blender.

Refrigerate: Store any leftover smoothie in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 12 hours.

Freezing: For long-term storage, freeze the smoothie in popsicle molds or ice cube trays for up to 3 months. Just pop out a cube or two whenever you want a refreshing treat!

Serving Suggestions:

Serve your mango smoothie as a refreshing breakfast or afternoon snack. It pairs beautifully with a slice of toast or your favorite granola for added crunch.

For a tropical twist, serve the smoothie in a coconut bowl or top with shredded coconut, chia seeds, or a few extra mango chunks.
