Ingredients
Ground Beef Mixture:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper
Additional Ingredients:
- 3 medium zucchini, sliced ¼ inch thick
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup Parmesan
Instructions
- Brown beef with onion & garlic: In a skillet, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until browned; drain any excess fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce & seasoning: Add the tomato sauce and Italian seasoning to the beef mixture, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for a few minutes.
- Layer ingredients: In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced zucchini, followed by half of the meat sauce, and a portion of the cheeses. Repeat this layering process.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 375 °F and bake the casserole for 25–30 minutes or until bubbly and the zucchini is tender.

- Add ricotta between layers for a lasagna-style texture.
