Ingredients
Mint Lemonade Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- ¾–1 cup sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
- 4–5 cups cold water
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves, lightly packed
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Lemon slices and mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Mint Mixture: In a blender, combine mint leaves with 1 cup water. Blend until the mint is finely broken down to release its flavors.
- Strain Mixture: Strain the blended mint mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, using a spoon to press and extract as much flavor as possible.
- Add Lemon and Sweetener: Add fresh lemon juice and sugar (or honey) to the pitcher. Stir well until the sugar or honey is completely dissolved.
- Combine with Water: Add the remaining cold water to the pitcher and mix thoroughly to combine all the flavors.
- Adjust Taste: Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or lemon juice as needed according to your preference.
- Chill: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld and serve it cold.
- Serve: Serve the mint lemonade over ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs if desired for a refreshing presentation.
Notes
- For a lighter mint flavor, muddle the mint leaves instead of blending them.
- Sparkling water can be substituted for still water to create a fizzy version.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
