Description

This passion fruit iced tea is a light, fruity, and ultra-refreshing beverage perfect for hot summer days. Combining the robust flavor of black tea with the tropical sweetness of passion fruit juice, it offers a delightful, thirst-quenching twist that’s easy to prepare and enjoy chilled or over ice.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 2 black tea bags
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

Flavoring

  • ½ cup passion fruit juice
  • 23 tbsp honey or simple syrup

To Serve

  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Steep the tea: Place the black tea bags in a heatproof container and pour 2 cups of boiling water over them. Allow the tea to steep for 5 minutes to extract a rich, robust flavor.
  2. Sweeten the tea: Remove the tea bags and stir in 2 to 3 tablespoons of honey or simple syrup while the tea is still warm to ensure it dissolves fully. Adjust sweetness according to your taste preference.
  3. Add cold liquids: Pour in 1 cup of cold water and ½ cup of passion fruit juice to the sweetened tea mixture to cool it down and impart a tropical fruity flavor.
  4. Chill or serve with ice: Either refrigerate the tea until chilled or immediately pour it over a glass filled with ice cubes for a refreshing chilled drink.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Garnish optionally with fresh lemon slices or mint leaves and serve cold for the best tasting experience.

Notes

  • For a lighter flavor, substitute black tea with green tea.
  • Adjust the amount of honey or simple syrup to suit your preferred sweetness level.
  • Garnish with lemon slices or fresh mint leaves to enhance presentation and flavor.
