Description
Warm and spiced pumpkin bread drizzled with a sweet cinnamon glaze — soft, moist, and full of cozy fall flavor, perfect for a comforting snack or breakfast during the autumn season.
Ingredients
Bread:
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp baking soda
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare it for baking the pumpkin bread evenly.
- Prepare Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, pumpkin puree, sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, cinnamon, nutmeg, and baking soda. Mix thoroughly until you achieve a smooth and consistent batter.
- Pour Batter: Pour the prepared batter into a greased or lined loaf pan, spreading it evenly to ensure uniform baking.
- Bake Bread: Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean when the bread is fully cooked.
- Cool Bread: Remove the loaf from the oven and allow it to cool completely in the pan before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting excessively.
- Make Glaze: Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth and pourable.
- Glaze Bread: Drizzle the cinnamon glaze evenly over the cooled pumpkin bread. Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- You can use pumpkin pie spice in place of the individual cinnamon and nutmeg for a more robust flavor.
- This pumpkin bread freezes beautifully; wrap tightly in plastic wrap and foil for up to 3 months.
