Ingredients

Classic Waffle Batter

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg

3/4 cup milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Red Velvet Batter

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg

3/4 cup buttermilk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons red food coloring

For the Cream Cheese Glaze (Optional)

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

12 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare the Classic Waffle Batter:

In one bowl, mix the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt).

In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients (egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract).

Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed (don’t over-mix).

Prepare the Red Velvet Batter:

In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, salt).

In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients (egg, buttermilk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and red food coloring).

Mix the wet and dry ingredients until just combined.

Preheat the Waffle Iron:

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for preheating the waffle iron.

Assemble the Marble Waffle Batter:

Pour both the classic waffle batter and the red velvet batter alternately onto the waffle iron.

Use a skewer or spoon to gently swirl the two batters together, creating a marbled effect.

Cook the Waffles:

Cook the waffles according to your waffle iron’s instructions (typically about 5 minutes), until golden brown and cooked through.

Prepare the Cream Cheese Glaze (Optional):

Beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract together until smooth and creamy.

Serve the Waffles:

Serve the waffles hot with a drizzle of cream cheese glaze on top.

Optionally, garnish with fresh berries for extra color and flavor.

Notes

You can adjust the amount of red food coloring depending on how vibrant you want the red velvet batter to be.

The cream cheese glaze is optional, but it pairs wonderfully with the waffles for added sweetness and richness.

For an extra touch, try topping the waffles with whipped cream or more fresh berries.
