Description

Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy rolls filled with sweet strawberry jam and cinnamon, then topped with a creamy glaze. They combine the classic comfort of cinnamon rolls with a fruity, summery twist perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Filling

  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy to ensure the yeast is active.
  2. Make Dough: Add the egg, melted butter, and salt into the yeast mixture. Gradually incorporate the flour while mixing and knead until a soft, elastic dough forms.
  3. First Rise: Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  4. Prepare Dough for Filling: On a floured surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle.
  5. Add Filling: Spread the strawberry jam evenly over the rolled dough, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly on top.
  6. Shape Rolls: Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and cut into 12 even slices.
  7. Second Rise: Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
  8. Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  9. Prepare Glaze: While the rolls bake, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create a smooth glaze.
  10. Glaze Rolls: Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls for a sweet finishing touch.

Notes

  • Fresh strawberries can be added to the filling for extra flavor and texture.
  • Cream cheese frosting is a delicious alternative to the glaze for a richer finish.
