Description

A deconstructed burger bowl inspired by the classic Big Mac. Juicy ground beef seasoned with garlic and onion powder, layered over crisp romaine or iceberg lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped dill pickles, diced onions, and optional cherry tomatoes. All topped with a creamy, tangy Big Mac-style special sauce dressing and a sprinkle of sesame seeds, delivering all the iconic flavors of the Big Mac without the bun.

Ingredients

For the Salad:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 6 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds (optional garnish)

For the Big Mac Sauce Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp dill pickle relish
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set the beef aside to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Big Mac Sauce Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, dill pickle relish, white vinegar, and smoked paprika until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  3. Assemble the Salad: In serving bowls, start with a bed of chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce. Top with cooked ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped pickles, diced onions, and cherry tomatoes if using.
  4. Add the Dressing: Drizzle the Big Mac sauce dressing generously over the assembled salad bowls to bring all the flavors together.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds over the salad to mimic the look and crunch of a burger bun. Serve immediately for best freshness and flavor.

Notes

  • Great for meal prep — store the cooked beef, chopped lettuce, and dressing separately, then assemble just before eating to keep everything fresh.
  • Make it keto or low-carb by using sugar-free ketchup instead of regular.
  • For extra creaminess and flavor, add sliced avocado on top.
