Ingredients
For the fries:
- 3 large potatoes, cut into fries
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
For the bulgogi:
- 300 g thinly sliced beef
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 onion, sliced
- 1 tsp grated pear or apple
Toppings:
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 green onion, sliced
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) to ensure a hot environment for crispy fries.
- Prepare fries: Toss the cut potatoes with 2 tablespoons of oil and salt to taste. Spread them evenly on a baking sheet.
- Bake fries: Bake the fries for 25–30 minutes, turning once halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
- Marinate bulgogi: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated pear or apple. Add the thinly sliced beef and sliced onion, mixing well, and let it marinate for 20 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Cook bulgogi: Heat a pan over high heat and cook the marinated beef and onions until the beef is nicely browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
- Assemble the dish: Arrange the crispy fries on a serving plate. Top generously with the cooked bulgogi beef and onions.
- Add toppings: Drizzle the fries and beef with mayonnaise. Garnish with sliced green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds on top for a finishing touch.
Notes
- Using frozen fries can save preparation time and still yield great results.
- Adding shredded cheese on top before serving can add extra richness and texture.
