Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 200 g udon noodles
- 100 g bacon, chopped
- 1 cup kimchi, chopped
- 1 tablespoon kimchi juice
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 green onion, sliced
Instructions
- Cook Udon Noodles: Cook udon noodles according to package instructions until tender, then drain and set aside to be mixed later.
- Cook Bacon: In a pan, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove excess fat if necessary to avoid greasiness.
- Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds to 1 minute, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir-Fry Kimchi: Add the chopped kimchi to the pan and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes to release its flavors and slightly caramelize.
- Add Sauces and Seasoning: Stir in the soy sauce, sugar, and kimchi juice, mixing well to combine all the flavors thoroughly.
- Combine Noodles: Add the cooked udon noodles to the pan and toss everything together until the noodles are fully coated with the sauce and ingredients.
- Melt Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the noodles, cover the pan with a lid, and let the cheese melt thoroughly for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the pan from heat, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve the cheesy kimchi bacon udon hot for the best taste.
Notes
- Use aged kimchi for a stronger, more developed flavor.
- Adjust the spice level by adding chili flakes if desired.
- Substitute bacon with mushrooms to make a vegetarian version.
