Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup (100g) brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup (80ml) melted unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-ins
- 1 cup (170g) chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature by the time your batter is ready.
- Prepare the Loaf Pan: Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper or butter to prevent sticking and make removal easier.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon until evenly combined.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the mashed ripe bananas, brown sugar, eggs, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and well blended.
- Incorporate Dry into Wet: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir gently until just combined to avoid overmixing, which can toughen the bread.
- Fold in Chocolate Chunks: Carefully fold in the chocolate chunks to evenly distribute them throughout the batter.
- Transfer Batter to Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula for an even bake.
- Add Extra Chocolate: Optionally, sprinkle a few additional chocolate chunks on top for a decorative finish and extra chocolate bursts.
- Bake: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs, ensuring the bread is cooked through.
- Cool: Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes to set before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and Serve: Once cooled, slice into 10 pieces and serve as a delicious breakfast, snack, or dessert.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for the sweetest and most intense banana flavor.
- Dark chocolate chunks can be used instead of regular chocolate chunks for a richer, more intense chocolate taste.
- Store the banana bread covered at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
