Ingredients
Bread and Cheese
- 2 slices bread
- 2 slices cheddar or American cheese
Pickle and Butter
- 2–3 dill pickles, sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Butter the Bread: Butter one side of each bread slice evenly to ensure a golden, crispy exterior when grilled.
- Heat the Skillet: Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, onto a skillet preheated over medium heat to start the toasting process.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Layer the cheese slices evenly over the bread in the skillet, then add the sliced dill pickles on top of the cheese for tangy flavor.
- Top with Second Slice: Place the second slice of bread on top, butter-side up, to prepare the sandwich for grilling on both sides.
- Grill the Sandwich: Cook the sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side, flipping carefully, until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- Serve: Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half if desired, and serve hot for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Use sourdough bread for extra flavor and texture.
- Add a slice of ham for a heartier sandwich variation.
