Description

Stuffed Mushrooms are savory bite-sized appetizers filled with a flavorful mixture of breadcrumbs, cheese, herbs, and garlic. They are baked until golden and make a perfect party snack that combines creamy, cheesy filling with tender mushroom caps.

Ingredients

Mushrooms

  • 20 large button mushrooms

Filling

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the stuffed mushrooms.
  2. Prepare Mushrooms: Remove stems from mushrooms and finely chop the stems to use in the filling mixture.
  3. Sauté Filling Ingredients: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the chopped stems with minced garlic for 3 minutes to soften and release flavor.
  4. Mix Filling: Stir in breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, cream cheese, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Combine well to create a uniform filling mixture.
  5. Stuff Mushrooms: Spoon the filling mixture into each mushroom cap, filling them generously but evenly.
  6. Arrange and Bake: Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, until the tops are golden and mushrooms are tender.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven and serve warm as a tasty appetizer.

Notes

  • Add cooked sausage or crab meat to the filling for a heartier and savory variation.
  • Use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs to achieve a crispier texture on top.
