  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 lemon (halved)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme (chopped)
  • 1 tsp paprika


Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) to get it ready for roasting the chicken perfectly.
  2. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the whole chicken dry with paper towels and place it in a roasting pan to ensure it roasts evenly and the skin becomes crispy.
  3. Season the Chicken: Rub the chicken thoroughly with olive oil or butter, then evenly coat with minced garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, chopped rosemary, and thyme to infuse deep flavors.
  4. Stuff the Cavity: Place the halved lemon inside the chicken cavity to impart a fresh, citrus aroma during roasting.
  5. Roast the Chicken: Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for 60 to 75 minutes, or until the skin is golden brown and the meat is cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
  6. Rest Before Serving: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute, ensuring tender and juicy meat.
