Description

This Hibiscus Strawberry Lemonade is a vibrant, refreshing beverage blending tart hibiscus tea, sweet strawberries, and fresh lemon juice. Ideal for summer picnics or any time you need a cooling, flavorful drink, it offers a perfect balance of tangy and sweet with natural ingredients.

Ingredients

Hibiscus Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 hibiscus tea bags

Strawberry Mixture

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 cups water (for blending with strawberries)

Other Ingredients

  • ¾ cup fresh lemon juice
  • ½ cup honey or simple syrup
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and fresh strawberries, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Steep Hibiscus Tea: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Remove from heat, add the 4 hibiscus tea bags, and steep for 10 minutes to extract the vibrant color and tart flavor. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  2. Prepare Strawberry Puree: In a blender, combine the 1 cup of sliced fresh strawberries with the remaining 2 cups of water. Blend until smooth. For a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove seeds and pulp, if desired.
  3. Mix Lemonade: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled hibiscus tea, blended strawberry mixture, ¾ cup fresh lemon juice, and ½ cup honey or simple syrup. Stir thoroughly until all the ingredients are well incorporated and the honey is fully dissolved.
  4. Chill and Serve: Add 2 cups of ice cubes to the pitcher to chill the lemonade. Refrigerate if needed to further cool before serving.
  5. Garnish and Enjoy: Serve the lemonade in glasses garnished with lemon slices and fresh strawberries for an attractive and flavorful presentation.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness to your preference by adding more or less honey/simple syrup.
  • For a sparkling version, replace still water with sparkling water after mixing.
  • Store the lemonade in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for best freshness.
