Ingredients
Oat Milk Base
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 3 cups water
Flavorings
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Blend oats and water: Combine the rolled oats and water in a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth but avoid over-blending to prevent sliminess.
- Strain the mixture: Pour the blended oat mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl or pitcher to remove the oat pulp, leaving a smooth oat milk liquid.
- Add flavorings: Stir in the maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt thoroughly to evenly distribute the flavors throughout the oat milk.
- Chill and serve: Refrigerate the oat milk for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavors and chill it before serving. Shake or stir before use.
Notes
- Do not over-blend the oats to avoid creating a slimy texture.
- Store the oat milk in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
