Description

Roasted until crispy and perfectly glazed in maple syrup, these Brussels sprouts offer a deliciously balanced salty-sweet flavor making them an ideal holiday side or appetizer.

Ingredients

Brussels Sprouts

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, halved

Seasoning

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Glaze

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Optional Toppings

  • ¼ cup chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup bacon bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for roasting the Brussels sprouts.
  2. Season Brussels Sprouts: Toss the halved Brussels sprouts in olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Roast Sprouts: Spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast for 25–30 minutes, allowing them to become crispy and golden brown.
  4. Glaze with Maple Syrup: Remove the sprouts from the oven, drizzle maple syrup evenly over them, and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  5. Add Optional Toppings: Once out of the oven, sprinkle chopped pecans or crispy bacon bits on top if desired for extra crunch and flavor.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to allow proper roasting.
  • Perfect as a side dish or part of an appetizer spread during holiday meals or any gathering.
