Description

This moist and flavorful banana bread is the perfect way to use ripe bananas. Easy to make and packed with rich banana flavor, it’s ideal for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

Ingredients

Banana Bread Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ⅓ cup (75g) melted butter
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Banana and Butter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed ripe bananas with the melted butter, stirring until fully incorporated to create a smooth base for your batter.
  3. Add Sugar, Egg, and Vanilla: Stir in the granulated sugar, crack in the large egg, and add vanilla extract. Mix well until the mixture is cohesive and creamy.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In the same bowl, add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently fold the ingredients together, mixing just until combined to avoid overdeveloping the gluten and keep the bread tender.
  5. Pour Batter into Pan: Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly to ensure uniform baking.
  6. Bake the Bread: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean, indicating it is fully baked.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it onto a wire rack to cool completely. This helps the bread set and makes slicing easier.

Notes

  • Add chocolate chips, walnuts, or pecans to the batter for delicious variations.
  • Use very ripe bananas to maximize sweetness and banana flavor.
  • Store the banana bread at room temperature, wrapped tightly, for up to 4 days to maintain freshness.
