Description

These peanut chicken lettuce wraps combine savory ground chicken with a creamy, nutty peanut sauce and crunchy vegetables, all wrapped in crisp butter lettuce leaves for a fresh and flavorful meal that’s perfect for lunch, dinner, or as an appetizer.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 head butter lettuce

Peanut Sauce

  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1–2 tbsp warm water
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Make the peanut sauce: Whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, honey, sesame oil, chili flakes, and warm water in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  2. Cook aromatics: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Cook chicken: Add the ground chicken to the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully cooked and no longer pink.
  4. Add vegetables: Stir in diced red bell pepper and grated carrot and cook for another 2–3 minutes until vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
  5. Combine with sauce: Pour in the prepared peanut sauce and stir well to coat the chicken and vegetables, cooking for 1–2 minutes more to heat through and meld flavors.
  6. Prepare lettuce: Separate the butter lettuce leaves, wash them thoroughly, and dry completely to use as wraps.
  7. Assemble wraps: Spoon the peanut chicken mixture into each lettuce leaf.
  8. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle sliced green onions over the top and serve immediately while warm and fresh.

Notes

  • Add chopped peanuts for extra crunch and texture.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce salt content if preferred.
  • For a spicier kick, add sriracha or increase the chili flakes amount.
