Ingredients
Pie Crust
- 1 pie crust
Filling
- 1 3/4 cups pumpkin puree
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to prepare for baking the pie.
- Mix Filling: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, sugar, eggs, and heavy cream until smooth and well combined.
- Add Spices: Stir in the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt, mixing thoroughly to evenly distribute the spices throughout the filling.
- Fill Pie Crust: Pour the pumpkin filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake Initially: Place the pie in the oven and bake at 425°F for 15 minutes to allow the crust to set and the filling to begin cooking.
- Reduce Heat and Continue Baking: Lower the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 35 to 40 minutes, or until the filling is mostly set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Cool Completely: Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack to let the filling fully set before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Serve with whipped cream if desired for added indulgence.
- Be careful not to overbake as it can cause cracks in the pumpkin filling.
