Description

Fun, colorful layered Jello cups that are perfect for parties, kids, or festive desserts. These vibrant gelatin layers are easy to make and visually appealing, creating a delightful treat that’s both playful and tasty.

Ingredients

Gelatin Layers

  • 1 box red gelatin (3 oz)
  • 1 box orange gelatin (3 oz)
  • 1 box yellow gelatin (3 oz)
  • 1 box green gelatin (3 oz)
  • 1 box blue gelatin (3 oz)
  • 1 box purple gelatin (3 oz)

Liquids

  • 6 cups boiling water (1 cup per gelatin box)
  • 6 cups cold water or milk (optional, for creamy layers; 1 cup per gelatin box)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Gelatin: Dissolve one box of gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring thoroughly until completely dissolved.
  2. Pour First Layer: Pour a thin layer of the prepared gelatin into cups or molds.
  3. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the cups for about 30 minutes or until the layer is fully set and firm to the touch.
  4. Repeat for Each Color: Repeat the preparation, pouring, and chilling process with each different color of gelatin, layering them one on top of another only after the previous layer has fully set.
  5. Final Chill: Once all layers are set, chill the Jello cups completely for an additional 1-2 hours before serving to ensure they are nicely firm and chilled through.

Notes

  • Add condensed milk or substitute milk for some or all of the cold water to create creamy gelatin layers.
  • Be patient with the setting process; each layer must be fully set before adding the next to avoid mixing colors.
  • Use clear cups or molds to showcase the vibrant layers beautifully.
  • You can customize the number of layers or colors according to preference or gelatin box availability.
