Description
A simple and creamy chicken Alfredo made with tender chicken, fettuccine pasta, and a rich garlic parmesan sauce. This quick and satisfying Italian-American classic combines sautéed chicken with a luscious cream sauce, perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Pasta
- 250 g fettuccine pasta
Chicken
- 2 chicken breasts, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Garnish
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a little pasta water in case you need to thin the sauce.
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the sliced chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and cook the chicken pieces until they are golden brown and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Sauté the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the cooked chicken and sauté briefly for about 30 seconds to one minute until fragrant, making sure not to burn it.
- Make the Sauce: Pour the heavy cream into the skillet with the chicken and garlic. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, letting it cook for 3-5 minutes to slightly thicken the sauce.
- Add Parmesan Cheese: Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until it melts smoothly into the cream, creating a rich and creamy sauce. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to thin it to your preferred consistency.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss the cooked fettuccine pasta into the skillet, mixing well to coat the pasta fully with the creamy chicken Alfredo sauce.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the dish for color and freshness, then serve immediately while warm and delicious.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan cheese for the best flavor and creaminess.
- Add vegetables like broccoli or mushrooms to the sauce for added nutrition and texture.
- If the sauce thickens too much, thin it with reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
